Decarbonisation and traditional buildings
Earlier this week, Hannah spoke to the Norfolk Constructing Excellence on the topic of Decarbonisation and Traditional Buildings.
Hannah shared her expertise about PAS 2038 and low energy retrofitting of traditional non-domestic buildings using the example of the sympathetic redevelopment of Norwich’s Wensum Lodge. She argued that since each historic building is so unique, there is not the resource to develop bespoke approaches every time. In this context, something like PAS 2038 gets us half the way there and provides us with the structure that might be a way of delivering change at scale.
She spoke alongside Jonathan Cage of Create Consulting Engineers who shared his experience of undertaking an option appraisal of the renovation of Hardwick House in Norwich, and Dr Catherine Guelbert-Thick of AQCUITY LIMITED who spoke about the value of heritage.
